BBS Review: Shea Moisture BABY Products

by Christina Brown

shea-moisture-baby-review I have a confession to make. Don't judge me. I don't have a baby yet but I've been using baby products for years. And I'm not ashamed. Johnson's Baby Powder on the dresser? Check. Baby Oil to hit the ashy spots in the winter? Check check check. I don't know why but I tend to enjoy some made-for-baby products better than the made-for-adults ones. Part of it may be that I know they're safe for my skin and free of harsh ingredients. They also smell like...well, babies. And I love new baby smell.

Anyway, my newest obsession in the baby grooming product category that I'm sure will continue when my bundle of joy is finally here, is Shea Moisture's BABY line. First of all, if you follow me over at LoveBrownSugar you already know that Shea Moisture is one of my favorite brands (see here) for both hair and skin care. I swear by their products. So it only makes sense that once they developed their BABY line, that I would hop on board as a fan. Here are a few products from the line that I love: 1. Raw Shea Chamomile & Argan Oil BABY Eczema Bar Soap

Most parents shy away from bar soaps when it comes to caring for baby because they often can be drying and have harsher ingredients. This Raw Shea Chamomile & Argan Oil BABY Eczema Bar Soap w/ Frankincense & Myrrh (baby Jesus anyone?) has some of the most soothing ingredients. Aside being all-natural, it's great for baby's skin which is a plus. 2. Olive & Marula BABY Head to Toe Wash & Shampoo w/ Avocado & Shea Butter

As a new mom, there's probably nothing sweeter to your ears than hearing that a product is multi-use. Baby wash and shampoo separate? Ain't nobody got time for that. Hence, Shea Moisture's genius combination of the two in their Olive & Marula BABY Wash. And with ingredients like olive, avocado and shea butter you can rest assured that your baby is bathing in nature's best.

3. Coconut & Hibiscus KIDS Extra-Moisturizing Detangler

Ok so this is one of those products I may have to stock up extra heavy on because I'll probably be using it just as much on myself as on my baby. For kids with a full head of curls (and adults for that matter), the Coconut & Hibiscus Extra Moisturizing Detangler is a God-send. It literally unravels tight knots in curls with ease. It containst slippery elm and marshmallow extract which are great natural detanglers for curls & kinks. I swear by this stuff on wash day.

4. Raw Shea Chamomile & Argan Oil BABY Head-to-Toe Ointment

Gentle moisturizers are a must for baby's skin. Though I haven't road-tested this on a baby just yet (cuz I won't have one for another 6 months), I have tested it out on my own skin and it feels really soft and moisturizing yet gentle. The Raw Shea Chamomile & Argan Oil BABY Head-to-Toe Ointment is great for diaper changes to help avoid rash and skin irritation.

Has anyone tried Shea Moisture's BABY line? Soundoff in the comments and let us know your experience. (Don't worry I won't judge you if you don't have kids yet. Clearly I don't!)
