As you all know, I try my fair share of hair products out on my own blog but when it comes to Cadence's haircare regimen, I'm pretty selective about what goes onto her hair.
Since she was just a newborn, I've been cautious about using products with quality ingredients that are safe and non-toxic but still effectively help me tame her kinky curls.
So when the folks over at new salon-formula haircare brand SoCozy™
sent me a sampling of their haircare collections, I was really excited to give them a try. Available at Target locations nationwide, the SoCozy brand was founded by kids salon owner Cozy Friedman and is formulated without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, synthetic color, propylene glycol, gluten, wheat or nuts.
What excited me most about the collection upon receiving it was seeing that it is tear-free and includes quite a few 2-in-1 and 3-in-1 products. As a mom who is constantly on the go, any products that cut styling time in half are a God-send. More important, I had been searching for hair products with conditioning properties to use on Cadence's hair that are tear-free so that I don't have to worry about burning her little eyes when I'm lathering up and conditioning her curls.
The first collection I tried was the SoCozy Cinch collection which includes a great 3-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner + Body Wash
(what doesn't this stuff do?) and also includes their Detangler + Leave-In Conditioner
My fave of the Cinch bunch has to be the Super Hydrating Conditioner
. It has a light berry scent - not too overpowering - and it really does condition Cady's curls well without weighing them down too heavily. It also rinses well.
Another problem I've been having is finding great styling products that aren't overly heavy and that don't leave Cady's curls feeling too sticky or crunchy. I like her curly products to have a light, flexible hold.
For that, I tried out the Behave collection which includes the Styling Cream Soft Hold
. A handful of this stuff works for all of Cadence's curls which is great because the bottle will last a while.
All in all, I'm definitely a fan of this collection. Because the products are pretty light but still effective, I could see this collection working on different hair types and being shared among all the kids in a family to address different needs. They also have a Boo! collection that specifically addresses head lice - great for school-aged kids especially in the summer during sleepaway camps and more.
Cady seems to like the collection too. She had way less fussiness during her detangling session after using the products and her curls came out nicely moisturized.
